Hidden treasures and pet supply

I bought some Deity PR-2 recorders from John. Drove to KC to pick them up at the pet store. They were just as described: brand new in the box and perfect condition. He had priced them to sell and I got a great deal. I would trust him to mail products if you don’t live in the KC area. He’s a very nice guy, was friendly and did good business with me. I had read some muck-raking posts about his pet store on Facebook but I took those with a grain of salt because lots of Karens want to play “animal hero” but they know nothing about running a real business. His animals were well taken care of when I visited to pick up the recorders in May 2026. I imagine if you treat him with respect, he will return it in spades.

I absolutely love this store. I’ve visited many times just to look and he was always kind to me. I ended up buying a spider for my dad (he lives over an hour away) so John was kind enough to let me send my dad a picture of the spiders in question. I walked away with a beautiful pink toes tarantula and happy dad that day. His store is clean and his animals seem happy and well taken care of. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for an exotic pet.

I see a lot of great reviews and a lot of poop ones! I just went in there Sunday and I had a great experience. I didn’t notice it smelling bad. I only saw a few of his animals bc I only went in certain areas. But the birds all looked great and they seemed happy. And then I saw his geckos and his white tree frog. Those all seemed great. We held two crested geckos. He said they were about 3-4 mos old. One was jumpy (as babies should be bc everything is danger) and the other was super sweet! So I got him/her (can’t tell yet) and then we looked at the frog. My bf held him and the frog just kinda hung out in his hand! So we got him! We were quite excited for our new babies!! We are excited to go back! Oh and John seemed quite knowledgeable!

John was a nice guy. He sold my family and I 2 very cute bunnies. We bought a lop eared and a Lions mane this past weekend and they are just the cutest. He also clips their nails for a good price. We needed a cage and he had a large one in the back he cleaned up for us and sold at a fair price. I will refer my friends and family to John for all their exotic pet needs. Thanks John!

I've been a passionate rodent owner for 6, going on 7 years. I got my latest hamster from here about 2.5 years ago. She was the most sweetest, friendliest creature I've ever met. No hamster I've ever had cared if I was upset. She would keep me grounded and was there for me. Hamsters are not a fully domesticated breed. As far as I can tell, the rodents here are well bred and none of the ones I met had behavioural problems like chain pet store rodents often do. My hamster died peacefully of old age, which is another sign of a good breeder. I plan to get my next hamster from here too, and if they turn out even half as good as her, this will be the place I recommend for people wanting a rodent. Customer service was great, the owner is very passionate and helpful.
